Who We Are
Rose Communications is a strategic public relations firm that helps clients uncover and share their stories with their target audiences. Rose Communications’ team of seasoned professionals works in concert with all facets of the marketing communications discipline to ensure our clients’ brands are manifest in their public relations initiatives.
Our Roots
When we decided to launch a public relations firm in 2003, one of the first questions we had to ask ourselves was, “What’s our name?” Because ours is a service business, we felt the name should reflect the people responsible for delivering on our clients’ expectations.
We ultimately decided to name the company after our founder’s great grandmother, Rose Ruth Shub, after whom she was named. Rose came to America from Russia just after the turn of the century. Fourteen years old and completely alone, she settled in Bayonne, New Jersey (just a few miles from our current offices) and worked in the garment district in Manhattan. After giving birth to four children, she moved her family to Washington, D.C. There she and her husband Samuel opened People’s Market, a kosher delicatessen and store in Foggy Bottom. In addition to selling grocery items, they offered pony rides for a nickel. We felt a moniker that reflected her courage and determination would feed our own entrepreneurial spirit.
